Mpiji For Jesus – Ep4

We were set to excursion to the nearest communities were the young revivalists held their meetings. “You are to walk into those communities as they do, the closest is 3km to 5km” Pastor Kalanzi stated. We all were nearly unwilling to go and witness because of the distance we had to walk. We had to choose between the young leaders to take each of us into the community among the people they are leading.

My shoes were unfit for such a distance, they would burn me if I walk. Nevertheless I decided to go. I choose Carol a beautiful 17 year old girl who fearlessly used every opportunity to win souls, she regularly led boys who were flating with her to Christ. We walked to her community, the people she led were happy to see her, they loved her as a first sign how her leadership is effective. She led them effectively and her preaching was deep. Carol was courageous and bold, her story was heart felt.

There was no regret, on our way back I recalled every event that took place as I sat in the minibus. Questions flooded my head.

Is there any bold step I’ve ever took for Christ?

What should I do?

I did not have the answers the way I wanted them. One answer repeatedly rung in my mind “you just have to go out there and speak to people, it’s not sophisticated as you imagine it

These young revivalist had 3 secrets,

They followed and obeyed their Leader

They loved God and we’re passionate to do his will

They faced their fears

It’s not sophisticated as we imagine, God calls us to go out into the nations and share good news. All Children of God work towards this call.

Mpiji For Jesus – Ep3

Pastor Kalanzi our host continued to unveil how the 13000 people come about. He started with the girl he was illustrating on. She was 17years old and leading over 600 people, he continued with the 2nd, the 3rd, 4th and more! Overwhelming sound came from the masses.

All were teens who’s stories were punches to the gathering. I consoled myself but it was not helping. They got that number of people in a couple of months because all of them had got saved that very year. Another 17year old girl had received Christ on 30th September, by the first week of November she was leading 216 people

I sat in a comfortable manner, resting my back and strenching my legs straight but I was uncomfortable. This crue spread around the neighbouring villages preaching Christ and winning souls. The Pastor dismissed the teens who had shared, he got to the kids. I mean the 6-11 years old. These made my intestines grumble. A 8year old girl brutalized us with blows, kicks, slaps. She was leading over 1 thouthand people. These seemed like made up like stories but they were not. Revival was taking place amid covid, as some Christians we’re confined in there houses others were out winning souls.

As he approached the road leading down from the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen: “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” But some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if they keep silent, the very stones will cry out!” Like 19:37-40

God has the ability to use anything if the chosen vessels are not willing. He used the kids and teens to inflict transformation. Remember the donkey that spoke to the prophet? God can unvail himself in all things but he choose man because he loves us.

We are special only if we follow and obey God, and we only obey God if we obey the leaders he has placed before us. The Mpiji young army of revivalists was able to prosper because they followed and obeyed their leader Moses Kalanzi

Who do you follow?

Do you obey your leaders?

Mpiji For Jesus – Ep2

We got off the bus hurrying, there was no time to waste. We were already late. Surprisingly none of us knew were the event was held. We managed to ask a motorcycle guy who directed us, “the first left turn, up the hill”

I entered a church structure, was warmly directed to the front left role which was occupied by most of the Fearless influencers. I did not give my ears to black hairless man who was holding a microphone and a maker in his hands. I looked and so how smart he was dressed, in black shoes, I lifted my eyes. His uper body was covered by a white buttoned t-shirt tucked in the black trouser, tightened up by a brown belt. He had teens and kids standing on his left side, his left hand was rested on a girls shoulder and it seemed like he was illustrating out something.

I lifted my eyes the more, looked up the roof and saw the timber they used to cover the church roof top. I judged its quality. I moved my eyes trying to figure out why in all the places in Uganda am in mpiji at this church. I got shock seeing the vision bearer of the Mavuno movement of churches, intently I noticed a number of leaders sitted and listening. However much I had come with leaders I honor, still I asked myself a question “why of all churches, this church?”

After realizing the attention of my pastors including Pastor Muruthi towards our host (The man with the microphone), my ears opened to hear. Our host was sharing about the revival taking place from his church towards his surrounding community and the strategy they were using. The teens and kids up front were the couriers of the revival. They went all about doing good and leading people to Christ.

His church was less than a thousand people, in fact it’s a seater of 200 people if covid regulations are not implimented. He shared “In less than one year my church has grown to 13,000 people” my lower jaw fell. I couldn’t believe it, “he might have made a mistake” I thought hoping to rectify it.

He repeated the same statement. My ears were wide open. It was not time to miss any of his statement.

It’s not time for you to miss

Mpigi For Jesus – Ep1

“I’m on the wagon” I told my pastor, “noted” she replied. She was inquiring me if I would like to go to Mpiji with the Fearless team from mavuno Church. Fearlessly I jumped on the wagon because I did not want to miss out anything and also I thought it’s great to be part of the winning team. It was a yes without finding out were we are exactly going.

Early morning I was at the roadside, dressed as smart as I was able. The vehicle packed and I entered. My pastors grinned, “morning Ephraim” I replied “morning” as the car accelerated, they immediately proceded with there hot talk which they had cut off to welcome me. We made two stop and others joined us (auntie Joy, Jackie and Job) as we departed Entebbe to join the Kampala group.

We joined the Kampala group and there we were on our way trying to catch up with time before our mini bus got a mechanical issue. This made the opportunity for some people to relief themselves. I joined Jackie, Job, autie joy and we cracked jocks, laughed! It was a time we were not willing to give away but the bus was ready to go! So we all sat separately into our sits.

I got quite, my neighbour was pregnant and she had not much to say. I listened to the music playing in the background as I anticipated to arrived towards the intended destination.

This helped also to view the nature and be away from home. Since the covid strike on the world. It was my 2nd time to be that far away from. I felt alive and at peace. A turn was made off the main road towards the assembled cars. We had arrived.

The number of mini buses and cars that had parked stirred a sense of something good.

Effective Leadership

To have people you are leading does not mean your leadership is effective. It only means you are a leader.

“Leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less.” John Maxwell definition.

Leadership is relationship based, if there is no relationship there is no effectiveness. It’s co-operative with the people it influences to make an impact. It’s not about authority but co-operation, with out people following and obeying there is no leadership. It’s not about people doing what a leader wants, its about the peoples will to obey

Effective leaders fathom the following steps

Relation:- they know if they do not have in-person relationship with the people they are leading then there leadership can be crushed by any sudden inimical incident. It’s relationship based to uphold obedience and willingness to do the tasks in excitement, in time and at peace for positive outcomes

Co-operation:- they makes it clear that whatever is being done is not for the benefit of the leader but us (including everyone). It makes people under the leadership feel valued for their work and to own every assignment given to them as though their life is based on it.

Movement:- they create a movement not a government. They need everyone to participate, feel free and willingly engaged. A government segregates, it controls people making them submit or be submitted to the authority willing or not.

Which type of leader are you?

What have you learnt?

What are you going to do about it?

Do you have in-person relationship with the people you are leading?

Is your leadership co-operative?

Is your leadership considered as movement or a government?

#Be effective

Ineffective Leadership

In Africa there is a theory about an effective leader, its being hooked up by a number of people. It’s vivid in families, offices, and organisation. This leadership creates fear, its requires a tough face and enforcing audible voice.

Fear:- there has to be fear sent out from the leader towards the people under his leadership. The belief is if fear circulates then obedience and focus is empowered.

Tough face:- a tough, gloomy, smileless face verifies seriousness and no tolerance for nonsense

Audibility:- it should have a commanding tone and clearly heard because the more it is loud the more effective it becomes. It stires up fear and require for immediate response

Many people are teaching leadership of this form, knowingly or not. Some people can’t control themselves on this fact because they grew up imitating such leaders and its all they are good at to there knowledge, it’s all they know to bring effectiveness in there leadership areas.

Such leaders don’t know that there leadership is not effective as they want. This leadership disrespect people, it hurts them and its also a hard work to grow into it. There is a need of a true and effective leadership training across the continent of Africa and the world.

Are you this type of a leader?

Do you like people to fear you so that they do whatever you want or you want them to willingly obey you out of love and inspirations you provide them?

Are you ready to work towards the effectiveness of your leadership?

#choose right, be effective

Pieces: Will Love Thrive? 2

A silence filled the store, Mom I love her Jeremy broke the silence! I can’t leave without her, I’m ready to do everything she needs but she keeps pushing me away. She doesn’t know how much pain I’ve gone through for her well being and even if I tell her still she doesn’t believe me. Mom I’ve got her scars all love me, does love supposed to hurt like this? Is it always have to be this hard? What haven’t I done? I’m I not handsome enough? Mom it’s been 12 years and am getting bruised more and more; I feel hopeless.

Moving her hands from around his buck and placing them on her upper shoulders. Locking straight at his boys face she said, Jeremy let me a story.

You see, Jesus Left his glory as God in heaven and came down on earth, born in a manger, grew up normally as any of us, he did all of this to share his love at the field we understand. He did good wherever he went yet at the end he was killed by his love “human, us” but surprisingly he forgave us. As you know I love Jesus and more others because after we made our biggest mistake then we realised all his love to us. Miraculously he was raised to life and now some of us have fallen in love with him and there are others who still don’t believe he loves them that much but slowly they are all realizing his love.

However much I want to tell to give up on Cindy, I won’t. She might not be loving you with her all heart at the moment but she loves somethings about you and she can’t live without you as we both know she keeps coming back pleading for forgiveness and asking for your support. This we too do to Jesus daily but it reaches a moment when we whole heartedly submit to him so my son don’t give up on your hope and love.

Let me see your handsome face, Jeremy smiled. Cindy is meant for you, she has hurt you several times but she can’t live without you. Your the air of life to her and one day she will appreciate you and the two of you will say “I do” to each other.

Thank you mom, Jeremy grinned

Pieces: Will Love Thrive? 1

“Jeremy is not feeling well” Tessy reported, “why? What happened?” Janet mom of Jeremy desperate and disturbed. I found him in the store crying and when I tried to ask him what’s wrong he screamed at me to get out of his sight and immediately he started throwing anything at his arms reach to me, he seems like a hurt lion. By the time Tessy was ending the talk, her mother was already on her way to meet Jeremy.

As she was leaving the house right at the door, she realised that she heard everything tessy said except we’re Jeremy is, turning to face tessy “you said were is he?” In the store. She twirled to go to the store which was in the compound, her one foot taking long to fit well into the sandal but because of the urgency she never looked down but dragged the sandal. “Not again, my son does not deserve this, what has she done to my son this time” Janet said in her heart. Her mind imagining the worst.

Entering the open store her eyes fell on her son as she turned to her left hand. Jeremy was in the corner scorting, his face hidden between his thighs. He felt being watched, slowly lifted his head he saw feets in sandals, imagining who it might be.

He raised his face to watch his mother looking at him with a sad face and a tear dropping out of her right eye. It is not that she did not want to rash to comfort her boy! It sort of happened that her body got numb for seconds “Lord please guide me on how to help my boy” she prayed, feeling every deep pain her boy felt. She prayed again “Open his eyes to see this time-round” helplessly she prayed.

Jeremie’s facial expression was forlorn, Janet seeing this she clasped her baby boy. Both cried out loud.

The Chase

On a plain ground terror seems close, in suspicion of trouble within the little mind of a rabbit on its very day when it thought it is released to nature, a look to the far way woods. A scramble in fleeing, bucking dogs on the chase. This was a set-up, the rabbit was released from it’s cage to test the speed and hunting skills of the dogs.

I can run but I can’t hide, hope I find a hole because I can’t outrun these two dogs behind me. Long story short the rabbit finally breathed its last breath in the jaws of the dogs’ reason, it was not freed to survive. The question is, honestly who do you think you are of these two characters? A dog or a rabbit.

Most people are rabbits and you can note it by their words, I tried, I regret the day I was born, life is not easy, hope I make it in one piece today, they ask why? and more as you may discover yourself saying or people around you. Others think the earth is a game someone set up to have fun. No one is meant to win all are to loose or die.

Such people tend to live life doing whatever they feel is worth doing, they don’t care if others are hurt in the process all they are after is to reach their desires. All negative events which happen to them are never their fault but someone else’s. This is a wrong view of life! A state of fear and hopelessness.

Rabbits focus on what to lose

Are you a rabbit or a Dog?

To be continued………..

The chase

We learnt that rabbits are insecure, in fear, surviving not thriving. It’s not a life worth living but many are living it because they are convinced that life is all about surviving.

Dogs have grit, dogs don’t survive they live, it’s in their nature, their view of life is way different. They are here to make a better day for someone, they build relationships and makes others feel better about themselves. They protect and defend the helpless, they are round to bring fair judgement though they are not as wise as a man they got a lot for men to learn. Dogs are being spoilt by human beings but they are nice obedient and loving animals with a purpose

Are you are rabbit or a dog?

Dogs look ahead towards their goal, they are focused to achieve it no matter what. They don’t regret being alive rather they rejoice about the impact they are yet to make. As rabbits survive dongs thrives over life. They get the better meaning of life and use it accordingly. Life is in us so that we make the world a better place and our neighbours feel and view us as a blessing.

We are not born or even made to reach our desires but rather we are here for more than that, we are present to teach each other’s needs, desires and passion by supporting and encouraging them as they too do the same. If we don’t serve each other then we’ve lost the meaning of life. As a mango tree does not enjoy its fruits, the sun doesn’t light for itself. True joy for what we have is gained by giving others what we have and at that price, they give what they’ve got which makes it more spectacular.

Look around every living and non-living thing is around to make a collision in something or someone else’s life. It’s never about you

Dogs focus on the gain
